About Texas Terrain Services
Family-owned construction and land services in Marquez, TX, serving Central Texas since 1978.
Our Story
Texas Terrain Services started in 1978 as a small, family-run operation in Leon County, and it's stayed family-owned ever since. Over three generations, the business has grown from a handful of jobs around Marquez into a full-service construction and land company covering four counties, but the core of it hasn't changed. The people who quote a job are the people who show up to do it, and the standards we hold ourselves to are the same ones the business was built on.
That kind of continuity matters in this line of work. Central Texas soil, drainage, and weather don't behave the same way everywhere, and there's no substitute for decades of hands-on experience with this specific ground.

Growing With Central Texas
In 2026, Texas Terrain Services welcomed James Bumpurs Construction into the family. Customers who worked with James Bumpurs Construction can expect the same crew, the same quality, and the same commitment they always have, now backed by the full resources of Texas Terrain Services. It's a natural extension of how we've grown over the years: staying rooted in the same communities while building the capacity to serve them better.
Licensed and On the Road
Texas Terrain Services operates as a registered interstate carrier under USDOT #4539731, with a fleet of company-owned trucks that handle our hauling and material delivery work directly, no third-party brokers involved. When we say we deliver dirt, rock, road base, or fill material ourselves, that's not a figure of speech. It's our own trucks and our own drivers, which means fewer scheduling surprises and more accountability from quote to delivery.

Who We Serve
We serve ranch, farm, and rural property owners throughout Leon, Freestone, Limestone, and Robertson counties, generally within a 50-mile radius of our home base in Marquez, TX. Whether it's a small residential lot or a larger working ranch, we scale our approach to fit the property, not the other way around.
We're local, not a franchise
Every job we take on is quoted and completed by the same family-owned crew, not subcontracted out or handed off to a call center.
We've seen this ground before
Over 45 years of experience means we already understand how Central Texas soil, drainage, and weather affect a job, before we ever break ground.
We do the work ourselves
From land clearing to hauling, we own our equipment and our trucks, which means we control quality from start to finish.
We stand behind what we build
Our name has been on this work since 1978, and that's not something we take lightly.
