Road Base, Gravel & Fill Materials in Central Texas
Texas Terrain Services supplies road base gravel, select fill, topsoil, and other aggregate materials for driveways, construction, and land improvement projects across Central Texas. Since 1978, our family-owned team has delivered materials straight from our Marquez, TX yard to ranch, farm, and residential properties throughout the region.
If you've searched for road base gravel or fill material, you've found a supplier that also does the installation work ourselves, so we understand which materials actually hold up on Central Texas ground.
What We Offer

Road base gravel
The foundation material for driveways and access roads that need to support regular vehicle traffic, including heavier ranch and farm equipment.
Select fill
A cleaner, more specific fill material for projects that call for it, rather than general dirt.
Topsoil
For landscaping, pasture improvement, or finishing work after construction or grading.
Washed gravel
A cleaner gravel option often used for driveways, drainage areas, and finish surfaces where appearance and drainage both matter.
Rip rap
Larger stone material used for erosion control, particularly around pond edges, creek crossings, and drainage areas prone to washing out.
White rock and other specialty materials
Additional aggregate options for specific landscaping or construction needs.

Our Process
We keep the process straightforward from the first call to the last truckload:

Choosing the Right Material for Your Project
Materials that look similar can perform very differently depending on the job. Road base needs to compact properly under vehicle weight, which general fill dirt often doesn't do well. Rip rap needs to be sized correctly for the water flow it's meant to control, or it simply washes away during heavy rain. Select fill matters when a project specifically calls for cleaner, more consistent material rather than general dirt. Rather than defaulting you to whatever's easiest to deliver, we ask about the actual use case first.
Before You Buy
Know the end use, not just the general category
"Fill dirt" and "road base" aren't interchangeable, even though they might look similar. Telling us what the material is for helps us recommend correctly.
Think about quantity carefully
For larger projects, an in-person look at the site helps us recommend the right amount rather than guessing from a phone description.
Access matters for delivery
Let us know about gate widths or ground conditions that might affect how our trucks reach the site.

Why Landowners Choose Us
We've supplied aggregate materials across Central Texas since 1978. Because we also handle driveway construction, excavation, and pond work ourselves, we understand what materials actually perform well on this region's soil and terrain, not just what's easiest to stock and sell.

Frequently Asked Questions
Road base is specifically suited to compact and support vehicle weight, making it the right choice for driveways and access roads. General fill dirt is better suited to leveling or filling low spots where load-bearing isn't the primary concern.
